Philippians 4:4-8

John 14:27

We live in a troubled world. There’s crime, terrorism, economic troubles as well as personal issues. But, Jesus can be the source of our peace.

Through Jesus, we don’t have to let the trouble AROUND us get IN us! Your heart was made for peace.

Here are 4 Keys to Finding Peace

1. Make a Choice to Rejoice

Philippians 4:4

Joy is a choice - a disposition you choose. You have an option: choose trouble or joy. Negative or positive. Cynical or upbeat. You have the ability to choose.

2. Be Flexible in Relationships

Philippians 4:5

A forbearing spirit is a yielding spirit, one that’s not insistent on its own way. A lot of stress comes from relationship issues. A forbearing spirit gives grace and space to the people around you.

3. Process in the Prayer Closet

Philippians 4:6-7

Deal with your life issues from your prayer closet. Let that be the first place you take an issue – you will find things in your prayer closet that you won’t find anywhere else.

Never deal with an issue that has not had at least one pass through your prayer closet. Don’t go to your prayer closet to worry. Be a prayer warrior, not a prayer worrier!

4. Get a Positive Mind Set

Philippians 4:8

You can focus on doubts – or faith. You can focus on questions – or answers. You can focus on the risk – or the reward.

It will be very difficult to locate peace while dwelling on the negatives. You’ll never find a positive life with a negative mind.

Practice these four disciplines and you can find peace in every area of your life!
